About Eating Healthy

The so-called “experts” have been trying to tell us what’s good for our body’s and what’s not for as long as I’ve been alive. Their wonderful advice has lead to horrific products like no-salt and margarine. And they have recommended a low-fat diet, only to learn later that we need what they call “healthy” fats. The list of absurdities goes on.

Here’s the most important part for you to consider. They’re not done. They’re still discovering problems with their current guidance and recommending new guidance on a daily basis. What’s the solution? Ignore them. You don’t need their help to eat healthy. Eating healthy is easy. Just look around you at nature.

Here’s what’s good:

  • Fresh fruit & vegetables
  • Fresh meat & seafood
  • Fresh eggs & whole milk
  • Water, tea & coffee
  • Wine
  • Basically anything you could find in nature

Here’s what’s not good:

  • Diet soda
  • Regular soda
  • Frozen pizza/dinners
  • Fast food
  • Most desserts
  • Beer & distilled spirits
  • Anything that required a factory to produce it

I don’t follow this diet perfectly. But I generally try to eat fresh natural ingredients, and try to avoid things that came from factories. In following this guidance, there’s no need to drink skim milk or avoid butter or even meat fats. These natural fats are not any big cause of concern. It’s all the processed foods that are manufactured using chemicals that trick our bodies into thinking we love these foods when the reality is they’re harder to digest and not a good source of nutrition. If you’re looking for a new “diet,” I suggest you give consideration to eliminating processed foods and enjoying all the full-fat natural foods you crave. You’ll find that your body will also crave fruits and vegetables and you’ll end-up with a really healthy balance of good quality foods in your diet.
