- 2 Slices Good Jewish Pumpernickel Rye Bread
- Steakhouse Blue Cheese Dressing
- Deli Sliced Corned Beef
- Deli Sliced Pepper Jack Cheese
- Fermented Sour Kraut
- Peperoncini
- Butter for Frying
Process:
- Melt some butter in a small frying pan over medium heat.
- Add one piece of bread to frying pan.
- Spread some dressing on bread.
- Add a layer of cheese followed by a layer of corned beef.
- Squeeze a few spoons of kraut dry and layer on top of beef.
- Top it off with a layer of peperoncini and cap it with another slice of bread.
- Cover with a lid for about five minutes to trap heat, warming sandwich
- Carefully flip and fry the other side for another 4-5 minutes
- Slice and enjoy at once while pipping hot with crispy bread.
Notes:
- All sandwiches are best when not overstuffed. Using lesser amounts of toppings will produce a more satisfying balance between bread and toppings, and will also allow the sandwich to warm more thoroughly.
- Arrange the toppings carefully. A little overhang is just fine, but try to avoid a big mound of toppings in the middle. Each layer should be flat and balanced.
- One easy way to flip a complicated sandwich like this is to slide it out of the frying pan onto a flat, invert the frying pan over the plate and then flip the plate and frying pan together. Lift the plate off and voila.
