Better Than French Toast

Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of spice (use any of cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, etc.)
  • 6 slices day-old baguette

Process:

  1. Cut bacon into half-inch dices and fry until just starting to crisp.
  2. Remove bacon bits to a plate, reserving grease in frying pan.
  3. Whisk remaining ingredients together.
  4. Return frying pan to medium heat.
  5. Place some bacon bits into frying pan in the shape of a slice of baguette.
  6. Soak a slice of baguette, flipping a few times, and place on top of bacon bits.
  7. Repeat steps five and six for two more slices.
  8. Flip when eggs are starting to brown. Bacon bits will be attached to each slice.
  9. Repeat steps five through eight with remaining three slices.
  10. Top with maple syrup and enjoy!
