Good appetizer party recipes should be universally loved, but with your touch of imagination... and again, easy to eat in-between conversation, flirting, dancing, drinking and whoo hoo, having fun.

Grab your partner — I mean blender; pick up some shiny utensils; flirt with some foods, and dance into the kitchen. Whirl around a few ingredients and out you come with some amazing party appetizers. Bet you don't get far!

Bella Mozzarella
(Mozzarella Impanata — Fried Mozzarella)

Mozzarella Impanate - Appetizer party recipes Make LOTS of these very delicious Italian finger food party appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 350gm fresh mozzarella
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 2 crushed and finely chopped cloves
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp fresh parsley
  • 10 sprigs fresh basil
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Method

- Break eggs into large, shallow bowl, salt lightly and whisk to mix.
- Mix pepper into flour and spread a layer of flour in shallow bowl.
- Mix garlic, parsley and bread crumbs together in shallow bowl.
- Cut mozzarella into1cm slices and dip into flour mixture, covering well.
- Dip into egg mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs mixture.
- Heat on high a 1½cm layer of oil in high-sided skillet. When oil is hot, put in the breaded mozzarella and fry for two minutes on each side or until golden, turning to cook evenly all over.
- Drain on paper towel.
- Serve as is or drizzle with a favorite marinara sauce (optional).
- Sprinkle with pinch of dried oregano and garnish with basil. Serve hot.

Serves: Makes 15-20

chicken liver pate – party appetizers

Chicken Live Paté

A food processor and fresh chicken livers makes light work of this richly delicious party appetizer.

Small bowls of this homemade paté make wonderfully different presents to friends.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken livers
  • 250g butter
  • 3 shallots or medium onion, chopped
  • 1 large garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 tspn mustard powder
  • 2 Tbln port
  • Salt and pepper to taste (approximately ¼-½ tspn each)

Method
- Check livers and clean if necessary, removing any green membranes.
- Melt half the butter (125g) in saucepan over medium heat, add onions and sauté until soft.
- Add chicken livers and garlic and cook livers just enough to cook right through. (Slice into one to check).
- Remove from heat and pour into food processor, adding port, mustard powder, half remaining butter (approximately 63g) and salt and pepper.
- Process until smooth, add more salt and pepper if necessary, then spoon into containers.
- Melt last bit of butter and pour over each top to seal.
- Chill in fridge for at least 2 hours; develops even more flavor if left for 24 hours.
- Keeps in fridge for up to a week, but bring out to be at room temperature to serve.
- Spread on crisp toast fingers or triangles, or plain crackers.

Notes:
Can be sealed with gelatin instead of butter. Paté can be decorated with chopped or sprigged herbs, olives, cranberries or other ideas you might like to try.

Preparation and cooking: 30 minutes.
